Booking & Payment

How do I book a tour?

Reach out through the booking form on any tour page, the contact form, email at [email protected], or WhatsApp at +351 917 906 444. We'll confirm availability, answer any questions, and send a written confirmation once everything is set.

When is my booking confirmed?

Your reservation is confirmed once you receive a written confirmation from us by email, after availability has been checked and any required deposit or payment processed. Until that point, your request is provisional.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept secure online payment by major credit and debit cards, processed through Stripe — your card details never touch our servers. Bank transfer is also available for advance bookings. Payment details and a secure link are provided in your booking confirmation.

Do you accept last-minute bookings?

Whenever our calendar allows, yes. Last-minute availability depends on guide schedules and partner venues, so please contact us directly — we'll do our best to make it happen.

Cancellations & Changes

What is your cancellation policy?

For cancellations made by you: more than 7 days before the tour you receive a full refund (minus any non-recoverable third-party costs); between 3 and 7 days before, a 50% refund; less than 3 days before or no-shows, no refund. Full details are on our Terms & Conditions page.

Can I reschedule my tour?

We're happy to accommodate date changes whenever availability allows. Reach out as early as possible and we'll find a new date that suits you — there's no rescheduling fee, though any non-recoverable third-party costs may apply.

What happens if Casta Tours has to cancel?

If we cancel for reasons within our control, you receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost. If circumstances beyond our control (weather, venue closures, road conditions) require a change, we'll offer a suitable alternative or a partial refund.

Your Experience

Are all your tours private?

Yes. Every Casta Tours experience is private and exclusive to your party. You'll never share your guide, vehicle, or itinerary with strangers — the day is entirely yours.

How large can my group be?

Most of our experiences are designed for couples, families, or small groups of up to six guests. For larger parties or special occasions, please contact us — we'll craft a tailor-made experience to suit.

What languages do your guides speak?

Our guides lead tours fluently in English and Portuguese. Other languages can sometimes be arranged on request — please ask when you inquire.

Is transportation and pick-up included?

Yes. Full-day tours include private transportation in a comfortable vehicle, along with door-to-door pick-up and drop-off at your hotel or accommodation in the Porto area. Pick-up outside that region can be arranged on request.

What's included in the price?

Each tour page lists exactly what's included — typically your private guide, transportation, entrance fees, tastings, and any meals noted in the itinerary. Personal expenses, gratuities, and items marked as optional are not included.

Do tours run in bad weather?

Most experiences run rain or shine — Northern Portugal's weather is part of its character. In the rare case of conditions that would compromise safety or quality, we'll adapt the itinerary or reschedule with you.

Practical Considerations

Are tours suitable for guests with limited mobility?

Many of our tours involve cobblestones, uneven terrain, or steps, but we can adapt routes to accommodate most needs. Please share any mobility considerations when booking so we can plan a comfortable, enjoyable day.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or non-drinkers?

Absolutely. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs are easily arranged — just let us know in advance. For wine tours, non-alcoholic alternatives and thoughtful tastings can be planned for guests who don't drink.

Are tours suitable for children?

Yes — families are very welcome. Wine-focused tours include lovely alternatives for younger guests (juices, local sodas, regional treats), and we adapt the pace and storytelling to keep everyone engaged. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable walking shoes are essential — many of our streets are cobblestoned. Dress in layers (Northern Portugal's weather can shift through the day), and bring a light rain jacket in the cooler months. We'll handle the rest.

Are gratuities expected?

Tipping is never expected and always at your discretion. If you've had a memorable day and would like to thank your guide directly, it's warmly appreciated — but our pricing is designed so you never need to feel obliged.

Can you arrange tours for special occasions?

Anniversaries, honeymoons, birthdays, proposals — we love crafting experiences around meaningful moments. Mention the occasion when you inquire and we'll weave in thoughtful touches to make it unforgettable.
